The village of Darnius<\/strong> is located in the Muga River<\/strong> basin and crossed by three other rivers, one of which is the Arnera, which flows at the foot of La Central Boutique Hotel & Spa Costa Brava.<\/p>\n

The reservoir was built in the 1960s to generate energy, supply water to Figueres and provide irrigation for the surrounding plain. This unique natural area is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. It is one of the largest reservoirs in the province of Girona and supplies water to many towns and villages across Alt Empord\u00e0. <\/p>\n

Today, it has become a popular meeting point for water sports, as well as an area for leisure activities, hiking and mountain biking.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

TRANS-PYRENEAN TREK (GR 11 \u2013 STAGE 04)<\/p><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This route begins along forest tracks and trails. Discover the fascinating fourth stage of the Trans-Pyrenean Trek, which starts in Requesens, home to its iconic castle, and crosses the Albera mountain range. <\/p>\n

Near the border, the peaceful municipality of La Vajol experienced a period of intense political activity during the Spanish Civil War. We follow the paths taken by thousands of Republicans who fled to France in 1939 to seek exile. <\/p>\n

The Negr\u00edn Mine was a talc mine owned by the Canta family. A collection of paintings from the Prado Museum was hidden there by order of the Prime Minister of the Spanish Republic, Juan Negr\u00edn, after whom the mine is popularly named. <\/p>\n

Another treasure had also been hidden there: five hundred million dollars\u2019 worth of gold, which was later transported by ship to Mexico.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

MONUMENTAL COMPLEX OF SANT PERE DE RODES

The Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes played an important role as a major pilgrimage centre thanks to the relics it housed. This site brings together three elements representing the pillars of feudal society: those who prayed, at the Monastery of Sant Pere; those who worked and produced, in the village of Santa Creu; and those who fought, at the Castle of Sant Salvador de Verdera.
The most remarkable feature of the complex is the monastery church, which, due to its originality and age, is an exceptional example of Catalan Romanesque architecture.
Between the 12th and 14th centuries, the site enjoyed great prosperity and had as many as 250 inhabitants. However, wars, looting, poor harvests and epidemics led to the sudden abandonment of the village. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Salvador Dal\u00ed Museum and House

The Dal\u00ed Theatre-Museum, opened in 1974, is considered Salvador Dal\u00ed\u2019s last great work and the largest Surrealist object in the world. Everything inside was conceived and designed by the artist with the aim of offering visitors a truly immersive experience and drawing them into his captivating and unique world. Born in Figueres, Dal\u00ed decided to give the entire museum to his hometown, including around 1,500 works such as paintings, sculptures, engravings, holograms, drawings and photographs.
Dal\u00ed bought a fisherman\u2019s hut in Portlligat, which he gradually transformed over forty years. Through narrow passageways, changes in level and dead-end spaces, Dal\u00ed created a unique setting: a labyrinth filled with distinctive objects and memories of his partner, Gala.
This was the artist\u2019s only permanent residence, offering a glimpse into the most intimate side of his life.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
